Short Term Visa - Embassy of Hungary

Short Term Visa

Kuwaiti citizens need a Schengen visa for Hungary and can apply at the Hungary Visa Application Centre (VFS Global: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/kwt/en/hun) in Kuwait City. The process involves booking an appointment online, submitting a completed application form, required documents like your passport and proof of residence in Kuwait, and paying the applicable fees. A specific new rule grants Kuwaiti nationals long-term, multi-entry Schengen visas valid for up to five years.

Application process

·         Find the correct center: Apply at the Hungary Visa Application Centre in Kuwait City, which is operated by VFS Global.

·         Book an appointment: Schedule an appointment online through the VFS Global website: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/kwt/en/hun

·         Submit your application: Attend your appointment in person with all necessary documents.

·         Receive a decision: Once the embassy processes your application, you will be notified to collect your passport and documents from the visa application center.

Completed application form: The form must be completed, signed, and dated by the applicant.

Passport: Original passport, valid for at least 90 days after your departure from the Schengen area. It must be no older than 10 years and contain at least two blank pages.

Embassy assessment: Applications are sent to the Embassy of Hungary in Kuwait for processing, which may include an interview with the applicant.

Please ensure that the visa application and its attachments (just like confirmed flight ticket and accomodation) must be submitted at least 15 days before the date of travelling. If the requeired time is not met, please note that the proccess will take more than the time scheduled.

The visa is only a preliminary permission for entry, which does not authorize its holder automatically to enter the country.

The visa fee is not refunded if the visa has been refused. The visa fee covers the cost of examination of the visa application and is paid for visa procedure, not for visa issuance.

Appeal procedure

If the visa is refused, annulled or revoked, the applicant has the right to appeal. Appeals can be submitted by the applicant or by a person authorized by the applicant at the Hungarian Consulate within 8 days after receiving the refusal; and 3 days within the date of receiving the decision for the annulment or revocation of a visa. The Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign AƯairs and Trade decides on the appeal within 15 days, and on the appeals against the decision for the annulment or revocation of a visa within 5 days.
